FAQ schema is structured data that marks up questions and answers on a page. Google has limited how often FAQ rich results appear, but the markup still clarifies page content, and well-written question-and-answer sections remain valuable for readers and answer engines.

What changed
Google reduced the display of FAQ rich results in 2023, limiting them to well-known, authoritative government and health websites. Many businesses stopped seeing the expandable FAQ in results, but the underlying questions kept their value.
Why FAQ sections still matter
| Benefit | Why |
|---|---|
| Readers | Quick answers to real objections |
| Answer engines | Clear question-answer pairs are easy to quote |
| Conversion | Objections handled before contact |
Our expert view
Write the questions your customers really ask, answer each in two or three sentences, and keep the markup accurate. The value is in the answers, not the code.
Demand
In Google Keyword Planner (United States, retrieved 25 October 2026), "faq schema" shows 100 to 1,000 monthly searches, with top-of-page bid estimates around $14.

Frequently asked questions
Should I still add FAQ schema?
Yes, if the page genuinely contains FAQs; it is low effort and accurate markup does no harm.
Can FAQ schema be used for ads?
No. Promotional or misleading FAQ markup breaks guidelines.
How many questions should a page have?
Enough to cover real objections; usually three to eight.
Limits and honest expectations
Search engines and AI assistants change their answers over time and no one controls them. Results vary by industry, city and competition, and we do not guarantee a position, a mention or a number of leads. We report what is measurable, plainly.
