How Vietnamese Exporters Get Found by Overseas Buyers in Google and AI Search

What Vietnamese manufacturers and exporters should publish so overseas B2B buyers find them in Google, ChatGPT and Gemini.

Quick answer

Overseas buyers now shortlist suppliers by searching Google and asking AI assistants questions such as "furniture manufacturer in Vietnam with FSC certification" or "OEM packaging supplier in Binh Duong for EU orders". Vietnamese manufacturers and exporters get named when their English website states capabilities, product specifications, certifications and contact details in plain text, and when trade directories, partners and media confirm the same facts.

Many Vietnamese factories have strong production capacity and export experience but a website that says very little: a few photos, a phone number and a contact form. A buyer in Germany, Australia or the United States who is comparing suppliers has nothing to quote, compare or forward to a colleague. AI assistants face the same problem. This guide explains what overseas buyers and AI tools look for and how an exporter can become the supplier they name.

How B2B buyers search for suppliers in Vietnam

Buyers rarely search for a company name they do not know yet. They search for a capability, a product, a material, a certification or a location, often combined:

  • "[product] manufacturer Vietnam"
  • "[product] OEM factory Vietnam MOQ"
  • "Vietnam supplier [certification] [product]"
  • "[product] factory near Ho Chi Minh City" or "in Binh Duong", "in Hai Phong"

The same questions are increasingly asked in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, often with more detail: order size, lead time, export market, compliance needs. The answer is a short list of suppliers, and the buyer contacts the first few.

What overseas buyers and AI tools need to find

Information What to publish Why it matters
What you make One page per product line with materials, sizes, finishes and options in text Specs inside images or PDFs are hard to search and quote
Capacity Factory size, main equipment, monthly capacity, lead times, if you are willing to publish them Buyers filter suppliers by capacity before they ask for a quote
Order terms MOQ, OEM/ODM availability, sample policy, packaging options These are the first questions in most enquiries
Certifications Only the certifications you actually hold, with issuer and validity Buyers and AI tools look for named certifications
Export experience Markets you ship to, Incoterms you work with, ports you use Shows you can handle their market
Company facts Legal name, English trading name, address, year founded, contact person Lets buyers and AI tools confirm you are a real, established business
Request for quotation An RFQ form per product with file upload and the fields a buyer needs Turns a visit into an enquiry

Never publish certifications, client names or figures you cannot support. A buyer's due diligence will find the gap, and AI tools may repeat a false claim that then damages trust.

Build the website for buyers, not for brochures

The most effective export websites are organised around buyer questions:

  1. Homepage that says in one sentence what you make, for whom and from where in Vietnam.
  2. Capabilities page describing the factory, processes and quality control.
  3. Product pages with specifications in text, photos with descriptive captions, and an RFQ button.
  4. Certifications and compliance page.
  5. Case studies of export projects you have permission to share.
  6. FAQ and guides that answer real buyer questions: lead times, sampling, shipping, payment terms, how to visit the factory.

Make your company a clear entity

AI tools need to be sure which company they are describing. Vietnamese exporters often have a Vietnamese legal name, an English trading name and sometimes a different name on marketplaces. Pick the names you will use, explain the relationship on your About page, and keep them consistent on LinkedIn, B2B marketplaces, trade directories and your Google Business Profile. Organization structured data on your site helps machines read the basics; Google explains it in its Organization structured data guide. See also our guide to entity SEO.

Languages and markets

English is the starting point for most export markets. If you sell heavily into one non-English market, such as Japan, Korea or Germany, a properly written section in that language can help buyers who search in their own language. Use separate URLs per language and hreflang tags, as described in Google's documentation on localized versions. Our international SEO guide explains the setup.

Outside signals that confirm you

  • B2B marketplaces and trade directories in your industry, with the same company facts and a link to your website.
  • Trade fair listings and exhibitor pages.
  • Industry associations and chambers of commerce.
  • Partner and customer mentions, where they are willing to name you.
  • Trade media coverage of your products or projects.

These sources help search engines and AI tools confirm what your website says. They work best when the facts match exactly.

Common mistakes

  • A website that is only a catalogue PDF.
  • Product names in internal codes instead of the terms buyers search for.
  • A contact form that asks for nothing useful, so every enquiry needs three more emails.
  • Different company names on the website, LinkedIn and marketplaces.
  • Claims such as "leading manufacturer" with nothing to support them.

Frequently asked questions

Do B2B marketplaces replace our own website?

No. Marketplaces bring enquiries, but your listing looks like everyone else's. Your website is where you can explain capabilities fully, and it is often what a buyer checks before replying to you.

Should we publish prices?

Most exporters do not, because prices depend on specification, volume and terms. You can publish what decides the price, MOQ and lead times, and ask for the details you need in the RFQ form.

How do we know if AI tools mention us?

Ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the questions your buyers would ask, in English and in the language of your main market, and record the answers each month. An audit can do this systematically.

Does Unitrux build export websites?

Yes. Unitrux designs B2B export websites and runs SEO, AEO and GEO for Vietnamese manufacturers selling to overseas buyers, in English and Vietnamese. See our services or contact us.

Limits and honest expectations

Search rankings and AI answers vary by market, product and competition, and no one controls them. Large marketplaces and established competitors will keep ranking for many terms. We do not guarantee a position, a mention or a number of enquiries.
